Umlani bushcamp

Project Scope:

Fair Trade Tourism Reporting

Project Overview:

Umlani Bushcamp is an off grid, eco safari camp nestled deep within the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, a pristine wilderness that forms part of the legendary Greater Kruger National Park.

Umlani has proudly carried the Fair Trade Tourism (FTT) certification for 15 years, being the 14th property to receive this accreditation in South Africa. FTT certification guarantees that the business operates in accordance with Fair Trade criteria such as fair wages and working conditions; fair distribution of benefits; and respect for human rights, culture and the environment.

I assisted the Umlani leadership team in the FTT re-certification audit process by analyzing, documenting, and reporting on their fair trade business practices, carbon footprint, and carbon offset efforts.
